Lemont High School Names March Students of the Month

Joe Paloian, Lauren Pustulka, Abby Roselieb and Spenser Bailey were recognized at the March 18 meeting of the Lemont High School District 210 Board of Education.

Four Lemont High School students received accolades earlier this month for their outstanding work and dedication to community.

Joe Paloian, Lauren Pustulka, Abby Roselieb and Spenser Baileywere honored as Students of the Month at the March 18 meeting of the Lemont High School District 210 Board of Education.

Only 32 students are honored as Students of the Month from October to May. Students may only be selected once during their time at Lemont High School.

Each month, Brad Grcevic of Edward Jones Investments in Lemont, makes a donation to a charity chosen by the four honorees. In a presentation to the school board, students announced Susan G. Komen for the Cure as this month's recipient.

March 2013 Students of the Month

Spenser Bailey, Freshman

Bailey, who was selected by the Mathematics Department, "demonstrates a tireless work ethic and consistently seeks a deeper understanding of academic material," according to his teachers. He is involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including Future Business Leaders of America and ich has qualified for a state finals competition. He is working toward becoming an Eagle Scout, and hopes to make the school's boys golf team next fall. 

Abby Roselieb, Sophomore

Roselieb is described by the Music Department as a well-rounded student, and is lauded for her commitment to the arts. She is a high honor roll student, and has competed in Illinois Music Educators Association events both in middle school and high school. She was also recently cast as Wendy in the school's spring musical, "Peter Pan." She hopes to attend Millikin University to study English education and musical theatre. She also hopes to try out for a marching band corps.

Lauren Pustulka, Junior

Pustulka was selected as the Science Department's Student of the Month. She is a high honor roll student with an outstanding grasp of science concepts and lab technique, according to her teachers. She is involved in National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Interact, Student Council, Foreign Language Club, Mu Alpha Theta and the Lemont Youth Ministry. She plans to attend college and study pre-medicine.

Joe Paloian, Senior

Paloian is a high honor roll student selected by the Business Department for his "pleasant demeanor, modesty and high level of integrity." As a member of the boys golf team, he helped the Indians to a third-place finish at the 2011 state finals and finished 27th in the individual standings. He also won a regional title with the school's Future Business Leaders of America chapter, and is slated to compete in the upcoming state finals. He is a member of the National Honor Society, and plays hockey for the Lemont Trojans. 

He hopes to play college golf while majoring in accounting and finance. He plans to take the CPA exam and become an auditor.
