Lemont High School Kicks Off 'Celebrate My Drive' Week

Supporting this program could lead to the school receiving a $100,000 grant and a concert from Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson.

From Oct. 18-26, Lemont High School students and members of the Lemont community are encouraged to take part in State Farm’s “Celebrate My Drive” - a signature program focused on teen driver safety.

Supporting this program could lead to the school receiving a $100,000 grant and a concert from Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson.

Supporting Lemont High School’s participation in the “Celebrate My Drive” program helps demonstrate that the community is working hard to reverse the startling statistic that car crashes are the number one killer of teens in the United States and Canada.

Lemont High School is committed to keeping teens safe on the road, which is why it once again has committed to participate in “Celebrate My Drive” - a program that’s all about celebrating the fun of getting a driver’s license while teaching all drivers positive habits to help avoid car crashes.

Students, parents and community members can help Lemont High School win a $100,000 grant and possibly a concert by Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson. Simply log on to www.celebratemydrive.com to make a safe driving commitment once a day, every day, between October 18-26. The more safe driving commitments the community makes, the better its chance to win $100,000 and host the Kelly Clarkson concert.

Car crashes are the number one killer of teens, and a teen’s first year on the road is the most dangerous. Using research as a guide, State Farm is approaching teen driver safety, a winnable public health battle, by engaging teens while they learn to drive in a supportive and positive way. Celebrate My Drive is a community-wide celebration of safe driving habits, emphasizing the benefits of safe choices as teens celebrate the freedom that comes with getting a drivers’ license.
