Lemont Boys Basketball Team Hopes to 'Pack the Place'

Show your support for Lemont High School and pile into the gym Thursday, Jan. 30. Lemont youth basketball players and their parents are invited to "fill the hoops" in between the sophomore and varsity games.

Lemont High School’s boys’ basketball team wants you to help “Pack the Place” on Thursday, Jan. 30, as the Indians host Oak Forest High School in a South Suburban Conference-Blue Division boys’ basketball contest in the school’s gymnasium.

Lemont Park District basketball players will be invited to take part in a special opportunity to shoot baskets on the court between the sophomore and varsity games.

Lemont’s varsity squad is led by head coach Rick Runaas, who has guided the Indians to a 9-7 record this season, including a 4-2 mark in SSC play.

After the sophomore level game, which is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m., Lemont Park District basketball players will be encouraged to come onto the floor with their parents to “fill the hoops.” They will be given an amount of time on the court to make as many baskets as they can.

This is a special opportunity for youth basketball players, and gives them a chance to shoot baskets on the court they someday hope to call home as basketball players at Lemont High School. Lemont Park District basketball players and their parents are encouraged to arrive in the gymnasium by 6 p.m. The varsity game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
