District 210 Board Expected to Approve Superintendent Contract Monday

The Lemont High School Board of Education is also expected to approve the purchase of $1.8 million in tax anticipation warrants from District 113A.

The Board of Education is expected to formally hire the district's new superintendent during its monthly business meeting Monday night.

Last month, District 210 , an associate superintendent in the Burr Ridge-based Community Consolidated School District 181, to serve as the next superintendent.

Ticknor will replace outgoing District 210 Superintendent Sandra Doebert, June 30, 2012, after leading the district for the past decade. The announcement ends a five-month search for Doebert’s successor.

The District 210 Board of Education has offered Tickner a three-year contract, which will be formally approved Monday. Ticknor will assume her post July 1, 2012.

The details of her contract are expected to be available following its approval.

During Monday's meeting, District 210 board members are also expected to approve the purchase of $1.8 million in tax anticipation warrants from , which Dec. 20.

The warrants will be issued to District 210 on Jan. 27, 2012, at an interest rate of 2.04 percent, according to Bob Lewis, an advisor from PMA Financial Network. It will be the third time the high school has purchased TAWs from District 113A since .

The most recent loan—— was scheduled to be retired by Jan. 31, 2012, with an interest rate of 2.23 percent. However, because District 113A must initiate the next round of borrowing by Jan. 27, the current TAWs will be retired four days early.
