District 113A to Appoint Interim Superintendent Wednesday
In back-to-back special board meetings, the board will interview candidates Tuesday, and name an interim superintendent Wednesday.
District 113A Board of Education members will name an interim superintendent during a special board meeting scheduled for Nov. 6, according to a meeting agenda.
The board will interview candidates during a special meeting Tuesday.
The interim superintendent will be in place through the end of the school year. Assistant Superintendent Mary Gricus will serve as lead administrator.
The district will then search for a permanent replacement to fill the vacancy left by the abrupt resignation of former superintendent Dr. Susan Birkenmaier. Birkenmaier left after just more than a year with the district. Her resignation was official Oct. 31.
