District 113A Names Interim Superintendent

Dr. Pamela Hollich will serve as interim superintendent of Lemont-Bromberek District 113A.

Lemont-Bromberek District 113A announced its interim superintendent during a special board meeting Nov. 6.

Dr. Pamela Hollich will serve as interim until June 1, alongside Assistant Superintendent Dr. Mary Gricus as lead administrator.

"I'm delighted to be here," Hollich said. "I enjoy working with schools, working with communities."

Hollich brings 38 years of experience in education, most recently as superintendent of eight years at Brookwood School District 167, in Glenwood. Hollich retired from that position in June 2013.

"I realized that time is heavy on my hands, and I enjoy the work," Hollich said, of returning to work.

Hollich fills the vacancy left by the abrupt departure of former superintendent Dr. Susan Birkenmaier, whose resignation was official Oct. 31.

The search for a permanent replacement will begin in December, when the board vets agencies to work with during the process. Interviews are expected to begin in January. The board is hopeful it will appoint a longterm superintendent by the spring.
