District 113A Board to Discuss 3-Year Wellness Plan, PTO Donations

The Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Old Quarry Middle School LRC.

The Board of Education will hold a special meeting Tuesday night to discuss the district's three-year wellness plan, donations from the Parent-Teacher Organization and the after-school program Project Infinite Green.

During the meeting, members of the district's Wellness Committee—which promotes nutrition and student health—will present highlights from their evaluation of the district's wellness policy and plan.

The committee will also present an updated three-year wellness plan (2012-15) that sets goals in the areas of nutrition education, physical activity, school-based wellness activities, nutrition guidelines for food and beverages, school meals and community involvement.

The board will also hear a presentation on Project Infinite Green, a Lemont-based after-school program that to present green business plans to members of Congress.

Following the presentations, the board is expected to formally approve more than $39,000 in donations from the PTO to , and .

A public hearing will be held prior to the special meeting to introduce updates to Policy 6:235, Access to Electronic Networks and Resources.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the , 16100 W. 127th St.
