D113A Board Members Shuffle Roles

Board members nominated and voted for their picks for leadership roles.

Lemont-Bromberek District 113A board members Wednesday switched leadership positions.

Board President Cindy Kelly will remain in the role, after receiving the sole nomination. Members nominated Dave Molitor and Al Malley for vice president. Molitor, who has served in a leadership capacity with the board for several years, spoke to the board before the vote.

Molitor stressed his experience in moving the board forward, as vice president, then as president and again as vice president. The board voted 5 to 2 in favor of Malley assuming the role.

While disappointed, Molitor said he would move forward with the board and continue his work on specific committees.

"I'll continue working with the best interests of the board and the district in mind," Molitor said. "We've seen some great strides in the district (during his time in leadership)."

Malley said he was looking forward to the role—one of distinction mostly in title only.

"I'm humbled by their nomination," Malley said. "I plan to concentrate on the kids more than we've been in the past. We've spent so much time talking about finances, it's time to talk about the kids."
