Apply Now for Lemont Chamber Scholarships

Deadline to apply by email, mail or in person is April 12.

The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce encourages high school seniors who live in Lemont Township to apply for one of two $500 chamber scholarships to help continue their education in college or vocational/technical school.

Applicants must compose and submit an essay following the theme, “What are the benefits of entrepreneurship and economic development for the community?”

The essay must be typewritten with a minimum of 500 and maximum of 1,000 words (two pages), and requires a cover sheet with name, address, phone number, email, attending high school and attending college.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 12, 2013. Completed essays may be submitted to the Lemont chamber office (at the historic train station),  by mail to Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce, 101 Main St., Lemont, IL 60439 or by email (preferred method) to info@lemontchamber.com.

The chamber will assign a committee to review the essays and make the final decision. Entries will be copied and numbered – and the identity of the author will not be revealed to committee members until the winning essays have been designated.

Essay winners will be announced at Senior Honors Night at Lemont High School in May.
