Along with being a great way to kick-start a college career, a degree from a community college can still help students land a good job in the state of Illinois.

With high school graduations taking place around the state as summer vacation begins, for students who can’t attend a four-year school in the fall, it’s time to take a look at Illinois community colleges as viable alternatives.

Rankings for community colleges are harder to find than ranking for four-year schools or graduate schools are. There isn't a publication such as U.S. News and World Report that ranks community colleges.

But CNN Money partnered with College Measures to rate community college based on their "success rate" of helping students transfer into a four-year school or graduate with an associates degree within three years.

By taking a look at the "success rate" measure, here are the top 25 community colleges in Illinois.

And for those who go to a community college but don't move on to a four-year school, there are plenty of great jobs in Illinois that don't require a four-year degree. Here are 10 of the best ones in Illinois.
