Who determined these nominations? Nothing against any of the listed establishments, but there are any number of other bars in town, and a wide variety as well. I was surprised not to see Dwayne and Linda's MAIN INN on the ballot. Back in the day, it was my favorite place in town, especially for pool. Interesting mix of customers from longtime locals to canal boat workers located right downtown. And how do you leave off NICK’S? Speaking of downtown, the future of which is a topic on many folk’s minds, this survey seems a little bit heavy on the downtown end, with only the TAP HOUSE (140 beers, even have 3 Floyd’s delicious cheese soup) located uptown. Maybe it should have been divided between uptown and downtown. Personally, I’d be torn to vote between the ILLINOIS BAR and GRILL and 3 CORNERS. I love to sit at the bar at the IBG for an ice cold pint of “Domaine Dupage” from 2 Brothers Brewery in Warrenville while enjoying a game on one of their numerous flat screens. They also have a great sound system in this bright and sunny place. Nice outdoor seating when seasonally appropriate. I have previously extolled the virtues of their gigantic chicken wings. 3 CORNERS is a place my wife and I like to visit when taking a night off from home cooking. Big comfortable booths. Extensive and constantly changing beer menu. Lots of different burgers, mac & cheese, shrimp appetizers and sweet potato fries. I should also mention JOE & JOSIE’S on Archer across from Target as a place you can experience an old roadhouse feel, a trip back to the 40’s and a film noir kind of joint.

Main Inn is the best. Great owners and lovely courteous bartenders. Always a good time. They also shoot a little pool there.
