What’s Closed on Independence Day?

Here's a list of some of the local facilities that will be closed on July Fourth.

While many of us will be celebrating Independence Day by attending parades and fireworks displays or barbecuing in the back yard, keep in mind that July Fourth is a federal holiday, and as such, most federal, state and municipal offices will be closed. And since it’s a federal holiday, the won’t be delivering mail, and the stock market and most bank offices will also be closed.

Here’s a list of a few other locations that will be closed Wednesday:

Village offices—now located at Central School, 410 McCarthy Road—will be closed Wednesday for the July 4 holiday. Offices will re-open Thursday.

The Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St., will also be closed Monday, however the drop box will remain open. Regular hours (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) will resume Tuesday.

The , 16050 W. 127th St., will be open from 7 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.

, 16028 W. 127th St., will be closed. Centennial Pol will be open from noon to 7 p.m.

Garbage pick-up

Waste Management will not collect garbage Wednesday due to the Fourth of July holiday, the company announced. This week's collection services will be delayed by one day for all Lemont customers. The company will resume its normal collection routes the week of July 9.
