Voter Registration Deadline Tuesday

Tuesday, March 8, is the final day to register to vote in the April 5 consolidated election.

Lemont residents who wish to vote in the April 5 consolidated election must register by the end of the day Tuesday.

In order to vote, you must be:

  • A U.S. citizen.
  • At least 18 years old by Election Day.
  • A resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to an election.

When registering to vote, you must display two pieces of identification. Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address. Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • Illinois driver's license
  • Illinois state ID
  • Employee or student ID
  • Credit card
  • Social security card
  • Birth certificate
  • Utility bill in applicant's name
  • Mail postmarked to the applicant
  • Valid U.S. passport
  • Lease or rental contract

In Lemont, voters may register during normal business hours at any of the following locations:

  • : 418 Main Street, open until 5 p.m.
  • : 1115 Warner Avenue, open until 4 p.m.
  • : 50 E. Wend Street, open until 9 p.m.

Cook County residents who miss the registration period may still register during the 14-day grace period at any of the County Clerk's six office locations. The office closest to Lemont is the Bridgview Mini-Center, 10220 S. 76th Ave. in Bridgeview.
