Village One Step Closer to New 19-Home Development in Lemont

The development would be the first of its size in at least five years, Mayor Brian Reaves said.

Lemont officials agreed Monday to vote next month on the proposed, 19-home Birch Path subdivision in Lemont.

The development on 6.5 acres near I-355 and 127th Street would be the first of its size in Lemont in at least five years, said Mayor Brian Reaves.

All of the property is being annexed into to village of Lemont. When property is annexed into Lemont, it is annexed in as R-1, and will need to be rezoned to R-4.

John Ford of Tempo Development Inc. originally proposed the development in July, and has revised the plans several times to accommodate input from the board and Planning and Zoning Commission.

Reaves thanked the developer for changes made to the plan, and his willingness to work with the village.

"I think he's done a phenomenal job as far as working within the constraints of the property," Reaves said.
