Sen. Christine Radogno Recognized for Support of Law Enforcement

Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) received an award Monday for championing efforts to protect and assist drug enforcement officials.

In recognition of her support of Illinois law enforcement, State Sen. Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) received an award Monday for championing efforts to protect and assist drug enforcement officials.

In 2012, Radogno sponsored House Bill 4081, legislation that provides an exemption in the state’s eavesdropping law for undercover narcotics officers.

House Bill 4081 took effect on Jan. 1, 2013, allowing officers who are investigating a felony drug violation to record and/or listen to conversations during the course of that investigation without a court order; the officers would need to obtain prior approval from the State’s Attorney. The law gives law enforcement greater flexibility during investigations targeting felony drug cases.
