On the Agenda: Village to Discuss Complete Streets Policy, Route 66 Trail

The village board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Village Hall, 418 Main St.

The Lemont Village Board of Trustees will consider the adoption of a "Complete Streets" policy during its semi-monthly business meeting Monday night.

Also on the agenda:

  • Lemont Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy will present a letter of recognition to Maintenance Administrator Dawn Banks for her contributions to the department's fifth annual in August.
  • The board will consider a Common Interest Agreement for the Regional Transportation Authority lawsuit against Kankakee and Channahon. The complaint, , alleges that Kankakee and Channahon that has some Chicago businesses routing their sales through satellite offices in municipalities with low sales tax rates. The result, according to a Chicago Tribune report, is that companies can sell products at a lower tax cost and make their products more marketable. Lemont — along with the villages of Tinley Park, Forest View and Stickney — joined the lawsuit in September.
