On the Agenda: Village Board Meets Monday Night

The Lemont Village Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, in the Large Training Room of the Lemont Police Department, 14600 127th St.

According to the agenda for tonight’s meeting, the Lemont Village Board will hear/discuss:

  • An ordinance amending the municipal liquor code, addressing some minor errors and providing the appropriate number of licenses of new businesses coming to town.
  • A resolution to amend an agreement with Wight Construction Inc. for the Village Hall renovation project. Due to plumbing, sewer and roofing issues, village staff is recommending the contract be increased to $2.2 million. Renovations to the building at 418 Main St. were initially expected to cost approximately $1.75 million.
  • An ordinance granting a special use to allow a group living facility at 1 Povalish Court. Timberline Behavioral, LLC is proposing a six-bed supportive living environment for adult females in recovery from an eating disorder, addiction and/or other mental health issues.
  • An ordinance amending the municipal code regarding items such as temporary signs, electronic message centers and their placement and design.
  • A resolution approving a downtown facade, sign and site improvement grant for 316 Canal St. Sweetwater Deli owner Annette Gioiosa applied for a grant in the amount of $1,855 to add awnings to the front of the building. The total cost is estimated at $3,710, of which the village will reimburse the business owner approximately 50 percent through a cost-sharing agreement.
  • A resolution approving a downtown facade, sign and site improvement grant for 110 Main St. Otto Brandt Wines has applied for a grant in the amount of $1,201.90, representing a 50 percent reimbursement for building facade improvement.
  • A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement with Lemont Park District to provide police enforcement on park district properties in the village.
  • A resolution approving an amendment to the intergovernmental agreement with Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A to allow the village to utilize the former Central School at 410 McCarthy Road until Jan. 31, 2013, during renovations to Village Hall.
  • A resolution approving MFT funds in the amount of $110,000 for improvements to High Road north of 135th Street to 127th Street.
  • Following executive session discussion, the board will consider a resolution authorizing a settlement agreement regarding Chestnut Crossing recapture agreement.
