On the Agenda: District 113A School Board Budget

The Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A Board of Education will meet Tuesday, following a public hearing on the draft of the FY 2013 Budget.

Members of the public will have an opportunity to voice their opinions on District 113A’s proposed FY 2013 budget during a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Old Quarry Middle School at 16100 W. 127th St.

District 113A Business Manager Barbara Germany will present the board’s tentative budget, which has been on display for 30 days, as well as an alternate budget with five additional teachers, which is projected to add $206,498 to expenditures in the Education Fund.

According to Germany, the projections are based on prorated salaries and benefits, and will result in a lowering of the balance in the Education Fund from $1,335,643 to $1,129,145 ($206,498 less than anticipated as projected under the tentative budget). To hire additional teachers, adoption of the budget will require approval from the Illinois State Board of Education.
