An objection was filed Friday against the candidacy of resident Duane Bradley, who is to the 41st Senate District of the Illinois General Assembly.

According to the Illinois State Board of Elections, an objection was filed at 11:45 a.m. Friday by Michael DeVivo of Homer Glen against Bradley's nominating petition.

In the objection, DeVivo claims Bradley's petition for candidacy only contains 300 signatures, according to a state board spokesperson. The minimum amount required is 1,000.

Under Illinois law, the electoral board must meet to consider objections between three and five days after receipt of the objector's petition by the chairman of the electoral board.

Bradley is challenging Illinois Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) in the 41st District, which includes portions of Burr Ridge, Darien, Downers Grove, Homer Glen, Indian Head Park, LaGrange, Lemont, Lisle, Naperville, Western Springs, Willowbrook and Woodridge.

Radogno has served in the Illinois Senate since 1997, and has represented the 41st District since 2003. She is currently serving her second term as the leader of the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus.

Bradley unsuccessfully ran for a seat on the District 113A Board of Education earlier this year. He has previously served as a member of the Bromberek School District Board of Education, according to the he supplied Patch in March.
