Library Cheers on Readers with Bears-themed Event

To celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month, the Lemont Public Library encourages residents to get in the game and tackle reading.

The Lemont Public Library invites residents to “Get in the Game” on Monday, Sept. 17, beginning at 4:30 p.m. for a winning lineup of events for all ages.

The schedule of events features presentations, high-energy performances and interactive challenges, along with the opportunity to win cool Chicago Bears-themed prizes.

1st Quarter –

  • 4:30 p.m. – Staley Da Bear’s Reading Challenge – Meeting Room (kids)
  • 5 p.m. – Scavenger hunt for teens – Teen Zone

2nd Quarter –

  • 5:15 p.m. – Photo op with Staley Da Bear – Meeting Room (all ages);
  • Teen Fantasy Football draft – Teen Zone computers

Half time –

  • 5:30 p.m. - Superbowl Shuffle half-time show and refreshments – Lobby

3rd Quarter –

  • 6 p.m. – “Cheer on Reading” with the Lemont High School Cheerleaders – Circulation Department

4th Quarter –

  • 7 p.m. – Patrick McCaskey will discuss the History of the Chicago Bears – Meeting Room (teens and adults)
