How to Vote

According to the Cook County Clerk's Office, there are four steps to voting on April 5:

When you arrive at your polling place, election judges will locate a pre-printed application for ballot form. You will sign the form, and your identity will be verified.

An election judge will determine your ballot style, which determines which offices and candidates you can vote for (based on where you live). You will receive your ballot slip with a style number.

A judge will then ask you if you want to vote using a paper optical scan ballot or a touch-screen machine.

Once you've made your decision, you will proceed to a private voting booth to cast your ballot. Instructions will be located in the booth.
