Lemont Village Board Holds First Meeting in Renovated Village Hall

Village staff is scheduled to complete move back to Main Street location by Jan. 23.

“I can’t tell you how great it is to be back in this building,” said Lemont Mayor Brian Reaves Monday night as the village board held its first meeting at the newly renovated Village Hall at 418 Main St.

The approximately $2.2 million in renovations to the 120-year-old building included improvements to its lobby, roof, windows, exterior doors, bathrooms and conference rooms.

Since mid-summer, temporary village offices have been housed at the former Central School on McCarthy Road. And although the board room was ready for action Monday night, finishing touches are still being put on the rest of the building.Village Administrator Ben Wehmeier said staff will begin moving back into its new offices next week.
