Lemont’s Neighbor to Neighbor Market a Success Despite Inclement Weather

Dark skies, rain, wind and hail didn't appear to dampen shoppers' spirits Saturday at the township's annual market to benefit Lemont families in need.

Mother Nature may have brought dark skies, rain, wind and hail to Lemont Saturday – but shoppers appeared unfazed as they browsed the products from more than 30 vendors and crafters at the Neighbor the Neighbor Vendor and Crafters’ Market at the Lemont Township Community Center.

Organizer Terri O’Neill-Borders started the market so stay-at-home moms and other crafters and vendors who were trying to supplement their incomes could gather in one place, make more contacts and have a chance to sell some of their wares.

The market featured a variety of items made by local crafters such as knitted scarves and crocheted necklaces, ribbon creations, baked goods, painted prints, Christmas stockings and crafts, jewelry, bath salts, candles and dog treats – as well as products sold by home-based vendors.
