Attention Commuters: Section of Route 83 Closed for Bridge Repairs
Drivers should prepare for several months of detours.
Work to replace the bridge over Mill Creek on Route 83 (Cal Sag Road) was scheduled to begin this week and commuters should plan to detour around the site through November.
Route 83 will be closed east of LaGrange Road in Palos Park. The detour directs drivers to LaGrange via 123rd Street and Route 7 to reconnect with Route 83.
The Illinois Department of Transportation, which announced the project, expects to finish the work by Nov. 21.

Homes and businesses east and west of the creek will still be accessible.
