Two Lemont Teens Accused of Residential Burglary in Unincorporated Downers Grove

Christopher G. Forzley and Jacob G. Carpenter were charged Tuesday with felony counts of burglary and residential burglary, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

Two Lemont teens were charged Tuesday with burglarizing a home in unincorporated Downers Grove, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

Christopher G. Forzley, 17, of the 19W600 block of Hillcrest Drive, and Jacob G. Carpenter, 18, of the 800 block of Main Street, were each charged with one count of residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and one count of burglary, a Class 2 felony, police said.

Police said they received a call around 5 a.m. Tuesday of a possible residential burglary near Farmingdale Village, located south of 87th Street and east of I-355 in unincorporated Downers Grove.

Deputies responded and found two suspicious men in the area, police said. When approached, the men fled on foot. Deputies searched the area, located the two suspects and took them into custody.

Police said they received additional calls of burglary to motor vehicles in the area where the suspects were apprehended. Sheriff’s detectives are continuing the investigation, but said the suspects are reportedly responsible for multiple car burglaries that occurred in the area in the early morning hours.

Additional charges may be pending, police said.

Both men are currently being held on bond. Forzley's bond was set at $25,000 and Carpenter's bond was set at $10,000, according to police.
