Sketch Released As Police Seek Shooter in Lemont Road Rage Incident

Police are searching for a white male, between 20 and 30 years of age, who they said shot a 58-year-old Downers Grove man Monday morning on 107th Street near 104th Avenue.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office released a sketch Tuesday night of the man believed to have shot a 58-year-old motorist during an alleged road rage incident Monday in unincorporated Lemont.

Authorities said the man depicted in the sketch shot another driver in the stomach around 10:30 a.m. Monday after being cut off on 107th Street near 104th Avenue.

The victim told police he was heading east on 107th Street in a black Buick LaCrosse when he accidentally cut off a gray or silver pickup truck. The victim pulled over to apologize, and the drivers exchanged words, police said.

Within seconds, however, the situation turned violent.

According to police, the suspect exited his truck, pulled out a gun and fired one shot at the victim, who was sitting in his vehicle. The truck driver fled the scene, and the victim called 911.

Sheriff's police said paramedics from the rushed the man to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, where he remained in stable condition Tuesday night.

CBS 2 Chicago and WGN Radio reported that the victim is from Downers Grove.

Fliers were passed out in the area Tuesday afternoon as police continue to search for the suspect, whom they describe as a white male with a possible olive complexion, between 20 and 30 years of age.
