Police stopped a pickup truck near North Aurora Road and Route 59 about 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday and after noticing several "suspicious indicators," police dispatched a K-9, Sabek, to search the exterior of the vehicle. The search allegedly led officers to find 19 one-pound bags of methamphetamine in the bed of the truck, according to police.

Edgardo Y. Rodriquez-Sanchez, 20, and Jesus A. Rubio, 25, both from the 4200 block of NE 14th Street, Des Moines, Iowa were charged with one count of methamphetamine trafficking and one count of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine – 900 grams or more, police said.

Both counts are Super Class X Felonies, which means both men could face up to 120 years in prison, if convicted.

The street value of the 9,847 grams of meth seized is estimated to be $984,790, according to officials.

"Thanks to the [Naperville Police Department's] efforts, a routine traffic stop resulted in the removal of nearly $1 million worth of dangerous drugs from our streets," said DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin in a press release. "This is by far the largest methamphetamine bust we have ever had in DuPage County."

Rubio and Rodriquez-Sanchez appeared in DuPage County Bond Court Wednesday where Judge Elizabeth Sexton set bond at $1 million cash for both men, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney.

In addition, Judge Sexton ordered that if each of the men raise the $1 million, "the court will hold a source of bond hearing to ensure that the bond money was not raised by illegal means," according to the press release.

Both men have a scheduled court date for Nov. 5.
