Lemont Men Charged with Disorderly Conduct, Battery in Monday Night Fight

Disorderly conduct charges were filed against Lemont resident Paul Tabor after a fight broke out among a group of juveniles near SS. Cyril and Methodius, police said.

Two Lemont men are facing charges for their alleged involvement in a fight Monday night, authorities said.

Abel D. Vega, 24, of Lemont, was charged with battery Tuesday night, nearly 24 hours after an altercation occurred near Logan and Czacki streets, according to Lemont Police Cmdr. Dan Tully.

Paul Tabor, 48, who resides at 535 Keepataw Dr. in Lemont, was charged with disorderly conduct for his involvement in the fight, Tully said.

Police responded shortly before 8 p.m. Monday to the incident, which Tully described as "a verbal altercation turned physical."

Because the fight involved at least one minor, no further details were available about the cause or nature of the incident, he said.

According to Tully, no serious injuries resulted from the fight, but an ambulance was called to the scene to treat the minor, who suffered some bleeding.

Vega is due in Cook County Court in Bridgeview on May 26, Tully said.
