Police: One Shot Fired in Home Invasion Monday

Police activity in the 800 block of Warner Monday involved a home invasion and one shot fired.

Lemont Police detectives are investigating a home invasion in the 800 block of Warner Avenue Monday.  

During the invasion, a single gunshot was fired. Detectives are working with witnesses to explore possible leads. 

A clear motive for the crime has been identified, Lemont police said. It is believed the incident was not random.

Lemont police are investigating an incident involving possible illegal drug activity, near the 800 block of Warner Monday afternoon.

The alleged drug activity took place around 2:30 p.m., said Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy. Residents told Patch about a shooting near the location, but Shaughnessy said it is unclear if there were any shots fired.

No one was injured. 

Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses. 

"We're looking into it. We're taking it very seriously," Shaughnessy said.
