Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon

According to Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy, Lemont officers were called to assist the U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) and while in the process of serving a search warrant, police allegedly discovered a shotgun in Ipema’s home. Shaughnessy said Ipema possessed no Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card – and a subsequent inquiry by police found Ipema is a convicted felon, resulting in the unlawful possession of weapons charge.
