Police Blotter: Statue of Virgin Mary Stolen, DUIs, Retail Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lemont Police Department for arrests and incidents Aug. 19-26. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Aug. 19

Theft of Virgin Mary statue

Sometime between Aug. 6 and Aug. 19, someone took a 4-foot-tall statue of the Virgin Mary from a home in the 600 block of Ledochowski Street. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Lemont Police Department at 630-257-2229.

Monday, Aug. 20

Illegal transportation of alcohol, other charges

David S. Jarmy, 50, of the 19 W 600 block of Bluff Road in Lemont was arrested at 11:34 a.m. in the 10900 block of Lemont Road. He was charged with driving while license is suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol. He will appear in the DuPage County Court House on the charges.

William Heron, 21, of the 800 block of Mills Road in Joliet, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. following an incident in the 300 block of Keepataw Drive. He was charged with telephone threat and was issued a Sept. 10 court date in Bridgeview.

Equipment stolen

Sometime between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and 5:30 a.m. Aug. 21, someone stole a red Honda generator and green/black Wacker tamper. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lemont Police Department.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

Retail theft

Tiffany L. Lange, 18, of the 100 block of Erin Court in Lemont was arrested at 12:26 p.m. in the 13400 block of Archer Avenue. She was charged with retail theft and issued a Sept. 10 court date in Bridgeview.

Thursday, Aug. 23

Driving while license is suspended, other charges

Raymond F. Craig, 28, of the 600 block of Huron in Romeoville was arrested at 6:57 a.m. at new Avenue and Lockport Street. He was charged with driving while license is suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration. He was issued a Sept. 24 court date in Bridgeview.

Alexander Nitchoff, 45, of the 1300 block of Gordon Lane in Lemont was arrested at 7:10 a.m. in the 14700 block of 127th Street. He was charged with driving while license is suspended and improper lane usage and issued a Sept. 10 court date in Bridgeview.

Friday, Aug. 24

Driving while license is suspended, no seat belt

Jared A. Speer, 19, of the 400 block of Briarcliff Road in Bolingbrook was arrested at 11:50 p.m. at State Street and Keepataw Drive. He was charged with driving while license is suspended and no seat belt and issued a Sept. 24 court date in Bridgeview.

Saturday, Aug. 25

Violation of an order of protection

Scott A. Jungles, 39, of the 16000 block of 145th Place in Lockport, was charged with violation of an order of protection following an incident in the 15100 block of Turnberry Trail. He appeared at the Bridgeview Court for a bond hearing.

Sunday, Aug. 26

Driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle

Martin Santiago, 37, of the 600 block of Meeker Avenue in Joliet was arrested at 12:31 a.m. in the 13400 block of Archer Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and was issued a Sept. 10 court date in Bridgeview.

Bob E. Olson, 43, of the 25000 block of Daffodil Lane in Monee, was arrested at 1:43 a.m. in the 13400 block of Archer Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and issued a Sept. 24 court date in Bridgeview.
