Police Blotter: DUIs, Battery, Theft from Vehicles

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lemont Police Department for arrests and incidents Sept 30-Oct. 13. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Sept. 30

DUI, Improper Lane Usage, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol

Jacob J. Gowin, 34, of the 13600 block of Star Lane, was arrested at 1:53 a.m. following a traffic stop at Archer Avenue and 131st Street. Gowin was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was issued an Oct. 17 court date in Bridgeview.

Thursday, Oct. 4

Battery

Jason M. Siwinski, 34, of the 700 block of Root Street in New Lenox, was arrested at 3:42 p.m. following an incident in the 0-50 block of Woodcrest Court. He was charged with battery and issued an Oct. 31 court date in Bridgeview.

Sunday, Oct. 7

Domestic Battery, Battery to Police Officer

William J. Vavra, 27, of the 800 block of Warner Avenue, was arrested at 7:02 a.m. following an incident in the 800 block of Warner Avenue. Vavra was charged with domestic battery and battery to a police officer. He appeared at the Bridgeview Court House for a bond hearing.

Monday, Oct. 8

Theft

Heidi Bak, 43, of the 14500 block of 136th Street, was arrested at 7:29 a.m. following an incident in the 1100 block of State Street. Bak was charged with theft and issued a Nov. 27 court date in Bridgeview.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

Suspended License, Improper Plate Display

Demitri A. Klikas, 43, of the 6600 block of Pershing Road in Stickney, was arrested at 10:47 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 11200 block of Lemont Road. Klikas was charged with driving while license is suspended and improper display of plates. He was issued a Nov. 27 court date in Bridgeview.

Theft from Vehicle

Sometime between 11:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., someone stole a jewelry box, two pairs of earrings and a ring from a vehicle in the 15400 block of 127th Street. Thursday, Oct. 11

DUI, Improper Lane Usage

Andrew C. Kloubec, 23, of the 17000 block of Steeplechase Parkway in Orland Park, was arrested at 2:01 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 13100 block of Archer Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. Kloubec was issued a Nov. 27 court date in Bridgeview.

No Driver’s License, No Insurance, No Seat Belt

Moises Lara, 36, of the 3500 block of 74th St. in Chicago, was arrested at 7 a.m. following a traffic stop at Archer Avenue and Derby Road. He was charged with no valid driver’s license, no valid insurance and no seat belt. Lara was issued a Dec. 11 court date in Bridgeview.

Suspended License, Speeding

Matthew D. Moreno, 25, of the 300 block of Richards Street in Joliet, was arrested at 8:53 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 15800 block of New Avenue. He was charged with driving while license is suspended and speeding. Moreno was issued a Nov. 27 court date in Bridgeview.

Friday, Oct. 12

DUI, No Insurance, Parked on Public Roadway

William S. Thiakos, 42, of the 12700 block of Dunmoor Drive, was arrested at 1:12 a.m. following a traffic stop at Parker Road and Huntmaster Lane. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and parked on a public roadway. Thiakos was issued an Oct. 31 court date in Bridgeview.

Saturday, Oct. 13

Theft from vehicle

Sometime between 9 and 9:30 a.m., someone stole a black purse, driver’s license, cancelled checks and cash from a vehicle in the 16100 block of New Avenue. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Lemont Police Department at 630-257-2229 or the Crime Tips Hotline at 630-257-6426.
