Police: ATV, Equipment Stolen from Lemont High School Athletic Complex

Nearly $9,000 worth of equipment was reported stolen Sept. 3 from the complex, located at the intersection of 131st Street and Bell Road.

Nearly $9,000 worth of equipment was stolen from the Lemont High School Athletic Complex over Labor Day weekend, according to Lemont police reports.

The items reported stolen Sept. 3 included a Dewalt bench grinder and batter drill, a Husky air compressor and a John Deere Gator utility vehicle, police said.

According to the report, the items were taken from a storage facility at the complex, located at the intersection of 131st Street and Bell Road.

On Sept. 16, District 210 Business Manager Jeff Eagan said the stolen items were worth between $8,000 and $9,000, with the Gator ATV representing the biggest lost. There was also damage to the storage facility, he said.

District 210 has submitted an itemized list of the items to its insurance company, and is analyzing current security measures to determine whether potential upgrades would prevent any further incidents, Eagan said.
