Spitalli was charged with Huseynli's murder, as well as aggravated kidnapping. Police say he kidnapped Huseynli's girlfriend at knifepoint.

According to The Chicago Tribune, the woman who was kidnapped petitioned for an order of protection against Spitalli after she lived with him. DuPage County Court records show that a woman filed an order of protection Sept. 11, but it was denied by a judge Oct. 2.
