A 19-year-old Lemont woman was charged Thursday with a felony count of making a false bomb threat at the Willis Tower, Chicago police said.
Julija Petraityte was arrested around 5:30 p.m. at the tower, located at Adams and Franklin streets in Chicago's South Loop, after telling a security guard that her friend had a bomb, police said.
According to a Chicago Tribune report, Petraityte made the joke after the guard asked her friend if she had taken all the items out of her pockets. When the guard warned her it wasn't funny, Petraityte repeated her statement.
Police said there was no actual bomb.
Petraityte was charged with one count of felony disorderly conduct—making a false bomb threat, police said.
She was released Friday, Aug. 19, after posting a $10,000 bond, according to Cook County Court officials. Her next court date is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 25.
