Lemont Boy Raises $5K to Benefit Police Memorial

For his birthday, Milo Greenspon, 7, asked for donations, rather than gifts for himself.

Milo Greenspon of Lemont celebrated  his birthday with a party on Saturday – but rather than asking for toys and games, the 7-year-old encouraged his friends and family to donate to a special cause.

Milo’s generous request helped raise $5,002 to help build the Illinois State Police Memorial Park.

This is not the first time Milo has asked for donations to a special cause in lieu of gifts for himself. In the past, he has raised funds for the Lemont Police Department, route: {:controller=>"listings", :action=>"show", :id=>"lemont-police-department"} -->, Special Olympics Torch Run and

Milo is possibly one of the sweetest kids I have ever met! His family does great work in our community! What an amazing thing to do at such a young age. He is a superhero in my eyes :)
