Lemont Man, 48, Killed in Two-Car Crash

The man was driving northbound, passing cars on the shoulder, when he lost control and was struck by a pickup truck headed southbound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

A man died in a two-car crash Monday morning on Archer Avenue near Parker Road in unincorporated Cook County near Lemont. 
Kenneth Ulanski, 48, was driving his Toyota northbound on Archer Avenue and passing vehicles on the righthand shoulder, when he spun and lost control and was struck by a pickup truck heading southbound around 6:20 a.m., according to Cook County Sheriff's office spokesperson Sophia Ansari.

Ulanski, of the 1200 block of Drover Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene. No further information regarding cause of death is available, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. 

The driver of the pickup was transported to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Archer Avenue between Bell and McCarthy roads was closed for investigations, but re-opened several hours later.

A fatal two-vehicle crash near the entrance of Cog Hill in Lemont has shut down part of Archer Avenue, ABC7 reports.

The crash occurred Monday morning, around Archer Avenue and Oak Tree Lane. Archer Avenue is closed in both directions from 123rd to Bell in Lemont.

How tragic! Prayers for him and his family. Who knows why he was in such a hurry. Maybe he was ill. May he RIP
