Bodies Found Strangled in Burnt Car Are Mother and Daughter, Officials Say
Cook County Sheriff investigators keeping tight lipped on details of double murder. Deceased women are from Chicago.

The bodies of two adults found in a burning PT Cruiser in a Palos Park forest preserve last Saturday are a mother and daughter from Chicago, a Cook County Sheriff’s official said.
The mother is in her 70s and the daughter is in her 50s. Both women were found deceased in the back of the PT Cruiser.
Earlier on Sunday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said the women had both been strangled following an autopsy.
Around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, a passerby reported a car on fire near intersection of Wolf and Ford Road. The bodies were discovered after Palos Park firefighters extinguished the fully engulfed PT Cruiser.
The death investigation has been upgraded to a homicide investigation.
Ben Breit, spokesman for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, said that the bodies were badly burned, making identification difficult.
Breit could not say if a rope or other binding was found around the women’s necks. The identities of both women are also being withheld.
"A lot of information is being withheld due to sensitivity," Breit said. "It's sad and it's scary."
