Two people have been charged in connection with a mother and daughter found strangled to death in a burning car at a Palos Park forest preserve on Saturday.

The husband of a woman found strangled to death inside a burning car is one of the two men charged, NBC Chicago reports.Both victims are connected to the people who have been charged, according to Palos Park police.

The Ford Road location where the car with the two women was found appears to be "simply the place to leave and burn the vehicle," police said.

Cook County Sheriff’s police are questioning suspects in the murder investigation of two women found burned over the weekend.

Authorities will release the identities of the victims, who were discovered in a burning PT Cruiser on Saturday in a forest preserve near Palos Park, pending the notification of the family, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. They are currently questioning two people. The identity of the suspects also has not been released.

The victims are a mother and daughter, officials said.

The Cook County medical examiner determined that the two women had been strangled. The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is treating their deaths as homicides.

Firefighters were called at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday to the Cap Sauers Holding Nature Preserve, located near the intersection of Ford and Wolf Road. Crews found the two bodies after extinguishing the fully engulfed PT Cruiser.
