Chicago Blackhawks: Dangerous in December

A look at the Hawks most fiery month within the past few years: December.

The Chicago Blackhawks are 35-8-3 in December in the past four years, including this season.

It's the time of the year when the chemistry clicks, and the wheels propel in motion. After the Blackhawks huge 4-3 shootout win Dec. 14, followed by home victories against the Ducks and Flames, it seems as if they're doing just that.

As of Dec. 18, the Blackhawks stand tall at 21-8-4, leading the Central division. While the Hawks are starting to put together what is a much more structured team than last year, they are still sure to not get ahead of themselves.

The Blackhawks' schedule is quite sketchy for the rest of December, facing many challenges, but also a few "gimme" games that shouldn't distract the team. The Hawks will see Montreal and Detroit at the Madhouse, as well as a few other interesting opponents. This month, while seemingly easy, will test the Blackhawks' mental strength and toughness.

The Hawks will travel to Pittsburgh on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. game against the Penguins (18-11-4).
