Chicago Blackhawks Off to a Solid Start

A look at the Hawks after a month.

It looks like the Blackhawks are happy with their start. But they're certainly not satisfied.

The 7-2-2 Blackhawks come out of October without a regulation loss at home, looking just as strong as they did in 2009-2010.

Yet the challenge is still ahead of them. With added grit coming out of the offseason, the Hawks play out the deadly mix of finesse and power/toughness. A team that can protect the stars, and be a true threat to any team.

Energizing the large crowds so far this season, they have yet to play the Red Wings and many of the Eastern Conference powers, which is where the challenge is.

Are they poised to enter the promised land again? No one's sure. But what we are sure of is that the Hawks are back, and they're entering the months of November and December, where in the past few years have been their most dangerous months. What is ahead of the Hawks is unknown, but the real challenge begins now.
