Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opening in Previous Wendy's Location

A friend of mine back in California just notified me that he will be moving to Lemont in the next few months in order to begin planning for the opening of a medical marijuana dispensary in the location the Wendy's used to be(next to McDonalds, in front of GoodWill). Thoughts?

I personally think this is very exciting news and could lead to mass enlightenment and bliss!

Sorry to burst your euphoric bubble, but the Lemont reporter had an article on this just this morning. Lemont is crafting an ordinance restricting marijuana operations , both distribution and manufacture, to M-3 and M-4 (manufacturing ) zoning districts. Lemont does NOT have any area designated M-3 or M-4. Further state law prevents a distribution facility within 1000 feet of a school. District 113a is right across the street and behind the bank from Wendy's.....

Since marijuana is grown hydroponically...sound like a fantastic idea for the brownfield , $21 million sports failure proposed for ghost town .

Now Jesse/Hank, if the VOL doesn't want pot within 500 feet of the downtown district..... Don't you think they would cutoff access to that parcel by blocking the VOL streets that access that property? Blocking utility easements? I know they could still boat in and helicopter in and such.... But a Pot farm would be better for our community than a sports entertainment complex? What you smoking over there?
