A grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed baking, sewing and refinishing furniture. Memorials can be made to Oak Trace Scholarship Fund, Downers Grove.

Toon Funeral Home

  • Freddie L. Sadrakula, 84, of Downers Grove. The U.S. Navy veteran served in World War II and held a 30-year career as a pressman with the Chicago Sun Times. Memorials for the husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Hallowell & James Funeral Home

  • Frank E. Herout, Jr., 83, of Downers Grove. The U.S. Marine Corps. veteran was a husband, father and grandfather.

Elsewhere

  • Joel A. Kagann, 76, of Woodridge. The husband, father and grandfather was a founding member of the Village of Woodridge and St. Scholastica Parish, and also served as the village's chief of police and mayor. He also was the Chief Deputy Clerk of Circuit Court of DuPage and the Clerk of the Circuit Court during his career.
