Lemont Hornets 83 Gold team continues winning streak, 9-0 and counting…

The 83-pound Gold team of the Lemont Hornets won their first playoff game last Saturday against the Carol Stream Panthers 30-12.  The Hornets held the Panthers to no points and -10 yards until the 4th quarter when the Panthers had two solid drives consisting of about 40 yards each.  The Hornets players once again had impressive performances on both sides of the ball, as well as special teams.  Four different Hornets players scored touchdowns during the game.

The coaches continue to be impressed at the way the team practices during the week and plays in the games.  “This is really a special group of players, each and every one of them love to play the game and always show great sportsmanship.  On any given play you can find at least one of our players helping a kid from the other team back to their feet,” one of the assistant coaches said.  Their success this season can be attributed to consistent hard work, positive attitudes, and sound fundamental blocking and tackling.
