Roth Family Honored With JCA Recognition Award

Joliet Catholic Academy honors Roth family with fundraiser.

The evening of Jubilaté, Joliet Catholic Academy’s annual fundraiser, will be underscored by honoring the Irene & William Roth family with the JCA Recognition Award.  Murph and Will of Joliet had 6 boys who graduated from Joliet Catholic and have 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  They are lifetime members of St. Raymond Parish.  Their involvement with JCHS and JCA span a 50-year period from 1965, their son Bill’s first year, through 2017 when their grandson Patrick will graduate from JCA.  The Roth’s have played an integral role in areas such as Elian Night, Jubilation, Jubil-Auction, Mother’s Club Board, Advisory Boards and any “happening” at JCHS where they could offer a helping hand. Will served as President as Joliet Catholic’s Advisory Board for several years and Murph was also President of the Council of Catholic Women for some time.

The JCA Recognition Award also honors the family of Murph and Will.  Bonnie and the late Bill Roth (’69) have one child, and Bonnie resides in Gurnee.  Julie & Mick Roth (’72) have four children, reside in Elmhurst, and Mick is a partner with Ice Miller LLP.  Sue & Tom Roth (’73) have four children, reside in Plainfield, and Tom is a consultant for MGT of America.  Luanne & Jim Roth (’77) have four children (Will ’07, Andy ’10, Ellie ’14 and Patrick ’17), reside in Naperville, and Jim is Managing Director for Pershing LLC, a Division of BNY Mellon.  Kim & Bob Roth (’79) have four children, reside in Sugar Grove, and Bob is a Partner with Reed Smith Law Firm.  Kim & John Roth (’82), have five children, reside in Naperville, and John is an Attorney, Roth Law Firm.

Mr. & Mrs. Roth have exemplified faith-filled commitment to JCA.  Their involvement in the early years of Jubilation and now their children’s continued participation affirm their belief in giving back to the school.  This honor confirms the Roth family’s reputation as a loving and selfless group.  According to Jeffrey Budz, JCA Principal/CEO, “This award is presented to the Roth family for their contribution of time, dedication and talents to make a meaningful difference at Joliet Catholic Academy.  The JCA community is grateful for this family and applauds them.”

Jubilaté will be held on Saturday, March 9th at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. For reservations, call Mrs. Chris Voss at 815)741-0500 or visit jubilate.jca-online.org.

Was there ever a time when a full day was offered Jennifer? I was in kindergarten at Oakwood aboutRead More 28 years ago and even then it was half day. If you want full day Kate, St Pats/St Al's, St Cyril's, and I'm sure others are full day.

Let's get real. It is NOT a half day. It is 2.5 hours. By the time kids into class, sing a song,Read More have a snack and pee, they are done for the day. Sorry. Calling a spade a spade on this one.

Is this question really from a teacher? Full-day kindergarTen has a lot of fillers too: they eatRead More lunch, go outside, go to the bathroom, etc. I don't think our public schools allow snacks in the classroom anyway. Any teacher would know that learning starts at home, and a teacher would know how to supplement a kindergarten curriculum.
