Lemont High School Breaks Out in Song, Dance for Ill Teacher

A group of students and staff dedicated their Faculty Idol performance to teacher Sean Clark, who missed the event due to medical leave.

Lemont High School teacher Sean Clark might not have been able to make it to this year's Faculty Idol, but he was on the minds of many of those on the stage.

English teacher Clark is on medical leave, and his fans wanted to show their support for the beloved faculty member of 18 years.

Students and staff planned a group rendition of Joe Cocker's classic, 'With A Little Help from My Friends' to open the April 11 talent showcase.  Clark has been involved in several past versions of the show.

The event paired students and staff members in a musical competition, and money raised benefits the school’s award-winning speech program. Seven faculty/student duets or groups appeared before judges Fine Arts chair David Nommensen (as a late career Elvis Presley), English teacher Marek Dron (as Russell Brand) and World Languages chair Christie Klingsporn (as Cher Lloyd)

The winner, as determined by the audience, was English teacher Jon Deguzman's dance group "Da-Grooves-Men."
