Lemont Girl Scouts Step Up, Throw Tea Parties in Support of Kids with Cancer

See how these Girl Scouts showed their support for those children suffering from cancer.

Lemont Girl Scouts service unit #724 Girl Scouts cadette troop #328 for their Silver Award hosted tea parties for the Daisy and Brownie troops on April 27 and May 2.

Both events raised money for research against childhood cancer, along with a collection of hats at the door.

The 80 girls learned proper etiquette table setting instruction. Gift baskets will be made for donation to children with cancer, said troop leader Christine Ostrander.

"We just want to reach out to benefit for the good of our community," Ostrander said. "That is always our goal as a troop together, because we care."
