LUMINARIA AVAILABLE FOR RELAY FOR LIFE

The Celtics For a Cure Relay team will be selling Luminaria at their car wash event for $10.

The purchased Luminaria will be lit at sunset during the Luminaria Ceremony.  The Luminaria Ceremony is a poignant part of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Lemont and Homer Glen planned for July 13th, at Lemont High School Sports Complex at 131st and Bell Road in Lemont. It offers an opportunity to remember friends and family lost to cancer and celebrate those who have survived.  Luminaria paper bags, bearing the name of an individual being honored or memorialized, are filled with sand and a candle and lit during the Luminaria Ceremony.  They provide a visible reminder to those walking laps at Relay For Life of Lemont and Homer Glen

The requested donation to sponsor a Luminaria is $10.  The Luminaria Ceremony will begin at dusk approximately 9:15 p.m., and offers Relayers the opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have had cancer and to remember loved ones lost to the disease. In addition to lighting the path for the Relay walkers, Luminaria will be used to create the word “Hope”.
