Hope and Friendship Foundation is inviting the community to donate
sack lunch necessities, notes of inspiration, support, valentines, etc. and if
possible to offer a bit of time and effort to create even more “sack lunches
with spirit” then we have in the past 7 years.

Lunches will be distributed to:Morningstar Mission and
Daybreak Mission in Joliet, as well as to seniors who enjoy meeting for lunch at the Lemont Community Center w/ the CNN lunch program and seniors who reside at St. Francis Residence located at Holy
Family Villa.

These lunches have brought such delight to our seniors, homebound,
ill, those who reside in our senior residents both assisted and independent,
and the homeless that have received these lunches have extended sincere
gratitude through the shelters back to me to tell me that the food, the gift
card for a 2nd lunch and especially the notes have created such a
ripple of happiness.  One of the clients
helped me to unloaded the bags of lunches one year and told me he still had his
notes in his bag from the previous year and he reread them often. He asked to
thank all of those who made that gift possible.

The lunches will be assembled just before Valentine’s Day on February
15th at 11am at the Lemont Township Office (1115 Warner Ave, behind (Chipains) and then delivered by friends of Hope and Friendship to friends at the Missions and Senior Centers for their Valentine’s
Day Lunch.

What
we need to reach the goal of 500 lunches:

*Loaves of bread

*jars of peanut butter and jelly *lunch meat *individually wrapped
cheese slices

*non-perishable snacks (granola bars, breakfast bars, nuts, packaged
cookies)

*cases of single serving bottles of water *snack bags of
chips/pretzels,

*& other lunch items that you can offer.

Also collecting donations of $5 gift cards to McDonalds, Burger
King, or Subway to be included in the lunch.
A 2nd lunch for the mission clients and seniors.

Most importantly we are hoping to collect at least 1000 uplifting
notes/Valentines/notes of inspiration/quotes (at least 2 per sack lunch)

Collection of these items will begin immediately (drop box only @ Lemont Police Station Lobby & Lemont Township
Office Lobby), hoping for donations of any lunch meat & rolls in the days just
prior to Feb. 15th, or bring them with as you join us at 11am on Feb. 15th
bring in the kids, family, friends, your valentine J, and assist
us in creating lunches that will warm a heart and lift a spirit.

Community groups of all ages are encouraged to assist by creating
short notes (these notes may be just the right words at a most difficult time;  A note and/or valentine that will be
treasured- perhaps kept in a wallet or bag and read and reread for a very long to
come).

If you would like to make a donation to the purchase of the $5 gift
cards to McDonalds, Burger King, and Subway.

Donations or gift cards can be dropped off on Saturday Feb 15th at 11am or to the Lemont Township Office front desk “Attn. Terri” prior to
that or mail a check to Hope & Friendship 721 Hickory St., Lemont.

In the darkest hour the smallest glimmer of light can provide the
most amazing glow.

This is just a simple attempt to reach out and lift a spirit that
is down.
