16th Annual Catholic Charities Golf Invitational Presented by Happy Products

On Wednesday, July 24th, kicking off at 10 a.m., Catholic Charities will host its 16th Annual Golf Invitational at the picturesque Cog Hill Golf & Country Club located in Lemont, just 30 miles southwest of the city. Emceed by NBC’s Andy Avalos, the all-day event will feature a Texas Scramble-style tournament, “celebrity contest” holes with WTMX’s Eric Ferguson and Former Chicago Bears Shaun Gayle and Emery Moorehead, breakfast, lunch and dinner, silent auction and more. Attracting over 350 participants, golfers and enthusiasts alike are invited for a day of fun on the greens for a great cause!

Hosted by event Chair Jim Ryan along with Co-Chairs Bob Berti and Mike Smith, this annual event benefits Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Family Services Programs, which will directly support thousands of families this year who are in urgent need of food, clothing, rental and housing assistance for their families.

Kicking off with a shotgun start at 10 a.m., golfers will play all four championship courses at Cog Hill, including Dubsdread, which is ranked among the Top 100 courses in the country by Golf Magazine and Golf Digest. Throughout the day, participants will enjoy hole-in-one prizes, exciting skill contests, open driving range and more! Local Chicago celebrities will host contest holes including “Beat the DJ” with WTMX’s Eric Ferguson and “Beat the Bears” with Former Chicago Bears Shaun Gayle and Emery Moorehead, plus returning this year is the Helicopter Ball Drop, where numbered golf balls are dropped from a helicopter onto the fairway and the ball that lands closest to the flag will win the grand prize!  After a delicious hot breakfast and grilled lunch, the day will conclude with cocktails, a legendary Cog Hill steak dinner and fantastic silent auction featuring sports, entertainment and travel items.
